North Ridgeville High School Names New Assistant Principal

At the July 16, 2024 North Ridgeville City Schools Board of Education meeting, Dr. Stephen Norris was approved as the new Assistant Principal at North Ridgeville High School.

Dr. Norris replaces Mr. Brad Jarrett whose resignation was approved by the board last month.

For the last 20 years, Dr. Norris worked at Willoughby/Eastlake as an AP Government and Economics teacher. He is also an adjunct professor at Lakeland Community College. He has been very active in the school district and in the community. Not only has he been an ODE consultant, AP reader, and baseball coach for the district, he has also been an elected member of the Willoughby City Council.

Dr. Norris attended Bowling Green State University and earned Bachelors of Science in Integrated Social Studies. He then received his Masters of Arts in Political Science from University of Akron. He attended Cleveland State University for his Administrative License and continued on to earn his Doctorate in Teacher Leadership from Walden University.

Principal of NRHS Joe Mueller said, “Dr. Norris’ experience in the classroom and in the city of Willoughby has provided him the leadership experience necessary to excel in this assistant principal role. Our administration is lucky to have him on board and we can’t wait to get started.”

Dr. Norris was at the Board of Education meeting and addressed the board, district, and the public about this new role, “I’m eager to step into this new challenge as assistant principal and build relationships with students and staff while modeling the mission of North Ridgeville City Schools. I’m excited for this next step and looking forward to working with Mr. Mueller and the high school team.”
