Every capital project goes through a journey, starting with an idea and ending with a finished improvement that benefits our community. It all begins with conducting necessary studies, careful planning and securing funding, followed by detailed design. After that, the city reviews bids, awards contracts and finally moves into construction, inspection and project completion. Below, you’ll find updates on several key projects currently moving through these stages. Take a look at how we’re building a better North Ridgeville, one phase at a time!
- Catch Basin Repairs: The contractor, Irvin’s, Inc began work on repairing 44 catch basins on June 30. The project will last approximately five weeks, weather permitting. It is expected to be completed by July 31.
- Concrete Pavement Replacement: Work should begin by the end of July and be completed by October 15.
- Crack Seal: The project is currently out for bid. It will be completed by August 29.
- Cypress Avenue Extension: Bids were received in June and the project will be awarded in the coming weeks.
- Luanne, Carolyn and Monica Drive Resurfacing: The city received a Community Development Block Grant from Lorain County to support this project. The County is managing this project. If all goes according to schedule, work could be completed by mid-August.
- Peanut Roundabout: Landscaping and gateway signage for the roundabout will go out for bid this summer.
- SR 83 and Chestnut Ridge Road Roundabout: Utility relocation is underway.
- Sugar Ridge Road: Proposals from interested engineering firms are being reviewed for both the Sugar Ridge Road – Bender Road roundabout and the Sugar Ridge Road rehab projects.
- Taylor Parkway Resurfacing: Funding for this project was secured from JobsOhio and ODOT in support of economic development in this industrial corridor. This project is in the beginning stages and is slated for construction in early 2026.
ODOT continues work on two projects in North Ridgeville. The U.S. 20 bridge replacement between Mills Creek Lane and Barton Road is expected to be completed in October. The SR 83 bridge repair over SR 10 between Chestnut Ridge Road and Lorain Road is expected to be completed in November.
