North Ridgeville Schools Issue 13 Gains Voter Approval

On Tuesday, April 28, the unofficial results of Issue 13 were in favor of the North Ridgeville City Schools, 4,075 (56.86%) to 3,092 (43.14%).

“I am thrilled that North Ridgeville recognizes that quality education plays an integral role in our students and our community’s future. By voting for issue 13, our community preserves the academics, programs, and educators our students need for success at the next level. We are thankful for the community’s support and will
continue demonstrating our commitment to education in these trying times,” Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said.

Issue 13 is a 10-year substitute levy that combines four expiring levies into one. Issue 13 accounts for 40% of the District’s local operating revenue and does not raise taxes for our current homeowners.

By combining the four expiring levies – two in 2020, one in 2022, and one in 2023, Issue 13 allows the District, to benefit from the growth of new construction in the community. Issue 13 generates funds needed to maintain high-quality academic programming, teachers, and buildings for a growing District, which has seen an enrollment growth of over 700 students in the past decade.

“I’m absolutely elated and relieved all at the same time,” North Ridgeville City Schools Board of Education President Frank Vacha said. “I’d like to thank the community for the continued support of our schools. With the passage of the substitute levy, we can continue to do amazing things for the students in our District.”
