At the Tuesday, September 1, 2020 Board of Education meeting, the board approved the hiring of a new treasurer, Michael Pissini. Pissini replaces Interim Treasurer Patrick East, who started January 8, 2020.
East replaced Michael Verlingo, who accepted the position of treasurer at Gahanna-Jefferson Public Schools.
“We are excited to hire Mr. Pissini as the new North Ridgeville City Schools treasurer,” Board of Education President Frank Vacha said. “Mr. Pissini provides great experience in different fields of finance, which we were impressed with. Mr. Pissini is a great addition to the administrative team.”
Pissini has held the position of treasurer/chief financial officer for the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City School District since June 2016. During his tenure at the Sheffield-Sheffield Lake City Schools, the district earned three Auditor of State Awards with Distinction.
“North Ridgeville is a district with tremendous community pride, one that is focused on its students, and dedicated to achieving academic excellence,” Pissini said. “I look forward to making a contribution to the outstanding team here while serving the Board and local community.”
Pissini was also the treasurer/chief financial officer for the Wellington Exempted Village School District from June 2015- June 2016.
Pissini began his professional career in finance as an auditor with the Ohio Auditor of State’s Office in Youngstown from 2010-2013. He was a member-manager for P3 Investments, LLC in Warren from 2013-2014 and worked for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District as a financial partner from 2014-2015.
“I look forward to working with Mr. Pissini. He possesses great financial expertise and has a proven track record of being fiscally responsible as a school treasurer,” Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said.
Pissini will officially start as treasurer on October 1, 2020.
