Bryan Morgan Takes Helm as Head Ridgeville Football Coach

On January 19, 2021, Bryan Morgan became the new North Ridgeville High School head varsity football coach after Board of Education approval. Morgan replaces Luke Durbin who stepped down in November 2020 after coaching for seven years.

“I am very excited for this new chapter in my coaching career. This will give me an opportunity to have an impact on a larger part of the North Ridgeville community,” Morgan said. “My staff and I are going to work to ensure a positive culture that is full of enthusiasm and commitment. The last nine years as the head varsity basketball coach has been a great experience and I had the chance to work with amazing colleagues. I appreciate the North Ridgeville City Schools for giving me the opportunity to lead the varsity basketball program.”

Morgan currently works at North Ridgeville High School teaching physical education and health. He has been working for the North Ridgeville City Schools for 11 years.

Morgan has ties to the NRHS football program when he coached wide receivers for the varsity team for one season. He also has coaching and playing experience at the collegiate level.

At Baldwin Wallace University, Morgan played quarterback on the JV team as a freshman and was a backup quarterback on the varsity team as a sophomore. For two seasons, Morgan was a student-assistant and coached the JV running backs, quarterbacks, and wide receivers. Additionally, Morgan spent one season as the JV offensive coordinator for Baldwin Wallace.

Morgan coached at Black River High School for five seasons where he was the offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, and quarterbacks coach. Morgan also spent one season as the offensive coordinator at Brooklyn High School.

“After evaluating candidates for the head coaching position, Bryan met the qualities we were seeking,” North Ridgeville City Schools Athletic Director Don Sparks said. “I look forward to the 2021 football season.”

I also saw firsthand his ability to grow a successful program that is grounded in a positive culture that leads to overall development of well-rounded student-athletes,” Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said. “I thank Mr. Morgan for his tenure as the head varsity basketball coach and I wish him the best of luck as he begins a new journey as the leader of our football program.”
