North Ridgeville High School is proud to announce that Alyssa Hlavacs and Levi Bailey have been named National Merit Semi-Finalists for the Class of 2025. These outstanding students will now move forward in the highly competitive process for a prestigious National Merit Scholarship, which will be awarded in spring 2025. Recipients of these scholarships are chosen based on their academic skills, notable achievements, and potential for success at the collegiate level.
Principal Joseph Mueller expressed his pride in this accomplishment, stating, “Designation as a National Merit Semi-Finalist is recognized as the highest and most prestigious honor bestowed on American high school students. This is a proud honor for these two students, NRHS, and our community!”
Alyssa and Levi will continue through an intensive application process, which evaluates their academic records, involvement in school and community activities, leadership qualities, employment experiences, and honors received. Finalists for the National Merit Scholarship will be announced in February 2025, with scholarship winners to follow in the spring.
In addition to celebrating our National Merit Semi-Finalists, North Ridgeville High School is excited to recognize several other students for their exceptional achievements. Last week, it was announced that four seniors from the Class of 2024 earned an AP Capstone Diploma. Congratulations to Arden Dlugosz, Kate Hugick, Cassidy Miller, and Fotih Turopov for their extraordinary commitment to academic excellence.
To receive an AP Capstone Diploma, students must earn scores of 3 or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research, and on four additional AP exams of their choice. Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said, “This is a true testament to the educational leadership and dedication of our high school staff. The meaningful relationships they have fostered lay a strong foundation for future success, both academically and personally.”
Furthermore, North Ridgeville High School is proud to announce that 58 other students have earned AP Scholar Awards for their exceptional performance on AP exams:
- AP Scholar: 15 students
- AP Scholar with Honor: 12 students
- AP Scholar with Distinction: 21 students
- AP Senior and Research Certificate: 10 students
These are incredible accomplishments. We are confident that our students will continue to make a lasting impact, not just within our school, but throughout our community. The future is bright for North Ridgeville High School, and we can’t wait to see what these talented individuals achieve next.
