Debate Night Takes Place at Academic Center

On December 16, eighth-grade students from the North Ridgeville Academic Center held a Patriots versus Loyalists debate. Using their knowledge of content learned in social studies about the American Revolution and language arts skills on how to prepare for public speaking, students debated about why they should be loyal to Britain or why they should revolt.

RHTA Gives Back to Community Care

The Ranger High-Tech Academy held a fundraiser for North Ridgeville Community Care, collecting items such as non-perishable food, new toys, and gently used/new winter gear. Students collected over 450 items for those in need this holiday season!

NRAC Studio Holds Victorian Celebration

Students in Ms. Koehler’s seventh-grade Blue Studio Advanced Language Arts class have been reading A Christmas Carol. On December 19, students transformed into a character from the book and engaged in entertainment they worked hard to create, including games, interactive timelines, newspapers, a slideshow, and a music playlist!

Students Learn History Through Theatrical Performance

Through The Center for Arts – Inspired Learning, six fourth-graders – Riley Marlow, Josh Rothacker, Sophie Lukachinsky, Cayley Ann Anderson, Evan Poling, and Amelia Daniels, took part in the performance of The Last Fugitive Slave, a re-enactment of the true story of Lucy Bagby, a runaway slave captured in Cleveland amid the protests of local abolitionists. Students worked with Robin Pease from The Center of the Arts – Inspired Learning. The performance helped students learn about the experiences of African Americans under the institution of slavery.

NRAC Students Compete in Power of the Pen Tournament

Eighth-graders Bella Wagner, Ayla Smith, Fotih Turopov, and Mia Vasilakis participated in the Power of the Pen Scholastic Writing Tournament Saturday, December 14, at Monticello Middle School in Cleveland Heights. Fifteen schools competed with a total of 140 seventh and eighth-grade students in attendance. Vasilakis placed fourth out of 70 eighth-grade students.
