Kindness Week Celebrated at Academic Center
At the North Ridgeville Academic Center, students and staff celebrated Kindness Week by putting the “I” in kindness!

- Third-grade students in Ms. Quinn’s class started a Kindness Cart in the building. On February 12, students delivered treats to all staff.
Students participated in a paper link activity by writing one kind thing they did or that they saw someone do this week on a paper link. The paper chain link connected from the 3-4 office, through the cafeteria, through parts of the 5-8 wing!
Broadcast Journalism Class Visits WKYC Studio
Mr. Roshong’s high school broadcast journalism class had the opportunity to witness first-hand the necessary steps to produce a successful newscast when they visited the WKYC Channel 3 studio February 13. NRAC Student Council Visits Northridge Residents
On February 11, the NRAC 3-8 Student Council visited Northridge Health Center. The students enjoyed playing bingo and working on crosswords with the residents!
NRHS Dance Team Qualifies for State

NRHS Music Department Gives Back to Community Care
The North Ridgeville High School Music Department held a Solo and Ensemble Concert February 7 to benefit North Ridgeville Community Care. Monetary or food donations was the price of admission for the event. Three carloads of food and $156 were donated to Community Care! Great job choir and band students! NRHS Student Surprised With College Scholarship
Congratulations to senior Victoria Toth for earning a $1,000 scholarship to Bowling Green State University! Victoria applied to BGSU and was accepted to the College of Business. Earning the scholarship was made possible through BGSU’s Faculty Ambassador Program for high school educators. Business teacher Mr. Jake Weckesser is a Faculty Ambassador for BGSU. The role of a Faculty Ambassador is to share collegiate opportunities with students

Students Compete in Local Math Challenge Tournament
On February 6, students from the Academic Center and Ranger High-Tech Academy competed in the 24 Game at the ESC of Lorain County against students in grades 4-6 from area schools. The 24 Game is a card game that tests a student’s math skills. Students sit around a table and place a card at the center that has four numbers. The goal is to tap the card before their peers and use all four numbers on the card with their answer equalling to 24. Students can use addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

- Academic Center fifth-graders Matthew Trimbitas, Braydon Crumley, Mallory Eldridge and sixth-graders Nathan Bubar, Amelia Klimchak, and Ethan Stanulet from Ms. Belko’s class competed. Stanulet placed first, Bubar placed second, and Klimchak placed third!

Mayor Corcoran Visits RHTA
Mayor Kevin Corcoran visited Ranger High-Tech Academy fourth-graders to talk about his job and to help answer their questions about how to have an impact on the government.
NRHS National Signing Day
On National Signing Day that took place February 5, seniors Patrick Casselberry and John Leili signed their letters of intent to play football collegiately. Patrick will be playing for Notre Dame College and John will be playing for the University of Toledo.
NRAC Robotics Club Competes in Local Tournament
The North Ridgeville Academic Center Robotics Club attended the VEX Winter Robotics Tournament on Saturday, January 25, at Brookside High School with two of the four teams making it into the final rounds. NRCS Students Earn Awards at Scholastic Art Exhibition
Students from the North Ridgeville Academic Center and North Ridgeville High School were well represented at the Lorain County Region Scholastic Art Exhibition located at the Lorain County Community College Stocker Arts Center. The gallery is open Monday-Friday 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m., Tuesday-Thursday evenings 4:00-6:30 p.m., and Sunday 1-3 p.m. The artwork will be on display until February 19. The students listed earned the following accolades.
