North Ridgeville Review The Community That Cares
Students and staff at the North Ridgeville Academic Center (NRAC) in grades 3-8 had the opportunity this year to adopt-a-family through North Ridgeville Community Care (NRCC).
In all, 8 studios and several other individuals adopted 37 children for the holiday season. They ranged in ages from 6 months old to 17 years old. NRCC emailed NRAC “wish lists” for each child. Their staff then shared the needed items so that staff, students and families could provide these items, and in many cases, much more.
This project is always a highlight of the year for those who choose to participate. This year, members of the Leo Club offered to wrap the donations during their “wrap and roll” event and also donated unused wrapping paper for those who chose to wrap the items as part of the service project.
It was truly a school community event for the benefit of the greater North Ridgeville community. In addition to the Adopt-a-Family event, many studios also collected new toys and other items to donate to the “Holiday Shop” NRCC also sponsors. We are so grateful for the continued support of this meaningful project, for it is in giving that we receive.
