Dear Editor,
I am voting to support Issue 17 to continue our community’s vital funding of Lorain County Community College. Every member of my family has attended classes at LCCC and benefited from the high quality, affordable higher education the college provides. In recent years I have been privileged to serve as the board chairman for the LCCC Foundation. The Foundation provides scholarships to many LCCC students and supports college initiatives to improve student success. The college’s efforts in improving student achievement have been recognized nationally including LCCC being named the best community college in the country. Given this record the Foundation strongly supports Issue 17.
The levy expires every ten years, which gives the community an opportunity to hold the college accountable for the impact it is having. The college’s accomplishments over the past ten years overwhelmingly warrant the community to continue its support of the college for another ten years.
Please join me in voting FOR issue 17 on March 17th.
