About Ranger Run for Rachel

“I have this theory that if one person can go out of their way to show compassion, then it will start a chain reaction of the same.” – Rachel Joy Scott

On April 20, 1999 while enjoying lunch on the front steps of Columbine High School, Rachel Joy Scott became the first victim in the school shooting that rocked our nation. Several months after the incident her parents found six journals that Rachel had kept during her short life including the quote above. This thought became what is known as Rachel’s Challenge. It inspired our very own North Ridgeville Academic Center students who started Rachel’s Closet when they observed their classmates in need of supplies, clothes, and lunch money. The closet accepts donations and allows students to select what they need anonymously. They hope to start a CHAIN REACTION, and we at the North Ridgeville Democratic Party want to help them do it.
