Saturday, April 24; 9 a.m. to noon – Columbia Branch. Bring your sensitive documents such as tax forms and medical records to be shredded onsite in the library parking lot. Each household may bring up to five standard‑size copier paper boxes or five grocery size bags of documents. Staples and paper clips are fine, but no binder clips, binders, spiral‑bound notebooks, other metal objects, batteries, or electronics. This free event is co‑sponsored by the Friends of the Columbia Library, Inc.

Sofi’s Magical Adventure: El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day)
Friday, April 30; 10 a.m. – Facebook. El día de los niños/El día de los libros (Children’s Day/Book Day), commonly known as Día, is an annual celebration of children, families, and reading. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. We’re celebrating with a performance of “Sofi’s Magical Adventure,” a bilingual musical puppet show based on Raquel M. Ortiz’s children’s picture book Sofi and the Magic, Musical Mural. The production was made possible by a MAEF Cleveland Foundation grant.
