North Ridgeville High School Principal Tom Szendrey Resigns

The North Ridgeville City Schools Board of Education has accepted the resignation of high school Principal Tom Szendrey. He has been the North Ridgeville High School principal since August 1, 2013. Mr. Szendrey will become the Director of Analytics and Strategic Initiatives with the Educational Service Center of Hamilton County.

“I’ve enjoyed these years serving the students, families, and staff at NRHS. While I will miss North Ridgeville, I look forward to the challenges of my new position with the ESC of Hamilton County,” Szendrey said.

Mr. Szendrey was hired as an assistant principal at the old North Ridgeville Middle School on October 15, 1998. He resigned from the position in August 2001 and held academic positions at Avon Lake, the Educational Service Center of Lorain County, and Cuyahoga Heights. Mr. Szendrey returned to NRCS when he became the NRHS assistant principal on August 1, 2012.

“Principal Szendrey positively impacted our students, staff, and the community,” Board of Education President Frank Vacha said. “Over the years he exemplified his strong commitment to ensure our students received the best education possible. “The Board of Education wishes him the best of luck on his new journey.”

Candidates for the new high school principal will be evaluated by the administration after the May 12, 2021, employment application closing date. It is the district’s goal to name the next North Ridgeville High School principal by June.

“It was a pleasure working with Principal Szendrey,” Superintendent Roxann Ramsey-Caserio said. “He is an educator who cares deeply for his students and their well-being, as well as their successes post-graduation. I appreciate Mr. Szendrey’s dedication to our district – I know he will be a great asset to the ESC of Hamilton County.”
