COVID-19 Home Tests – We are still distributing the Abbott BinaxNOW COVID-19 Home Test kits via curbside service at each of our branches. Supply is limited so we encourage you to call ahead to ensure availability at your local branch. Please note you will need the following to take this test: A computer with video calling capabilities, a smartphone, internet access and an email address.
Vaccination Card Lamination – Each of our branches is offering free lamination service of the COVID-19 vaccination cards. Please note this service is for vaccination cards only.
City Fresh Produce Pick‑Ups – Tuesdays, Aug. 24, 31; Sept. 7, 14, 21, 28; Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26; 4 p.m. – City Fresh is a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program working to create access to fresh, local vegetables for all. With a weekly payment, participants receive a grab bag of fresh seasonal produce for pick up at either the Main Library or the South Branch. For more information, please visit cityfresh.org.
LPLS Zoom Writers Group – Tuesday, Aug. 24; 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. – Adult writers are invited to join us via Zoom to write and discuss together. Preregistration required.
Cooking with Charlie for Adults (on Facebook) – Friday, Aug. 27; 3 p.m. – We use our portable Charlie Cart kitchen in cooking demonstrations that you can follow along from home!

Young Chefs: Basic Cooking Classes for Teens – Thursday, Sept. 2; 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Main Library – Teens who are interested in learning how to cook are invited to our Culinary Literacy Center as our friends from the LCCC Culinary Arts Institute visit to teach fun new skills. Welcome to Medicare – Friday, Sept. 3; 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., South Lorain Branch – A volunteer Medicare counselor with the Ohio Senior Health Insurance Information Program presents information on how Medicare works, what benefits Medicare provides, and what options are available for Medicare. Pokémon Trainer Walk – Saturday, Sept. 4; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Columbia Branch – We’re excited to host this event with @NianticLabs. Spin special event Pokéstops, battle fellow trainers, trade Pokémon, hatch eggs on our walking path, and catch plenty of Pokémon in the nest located within the park. “Pokémon GO” phone app is required. Learn how cooking at home, for yourself or family, can be healthier, more economical, more fun and easier than you think. Reading to the Rescues – Tuesdays through the end of August at 2 and 2:30 p.m. – LPLS Columbia Branch has partnered with The Berea Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) for a program wherein children can volunteer to sit and read to the cats! Children must register at the shelter in advance and be accompanied by an adult. The shelter is located at 10015 E. River Road in Columbia Station.
