North Ridgeville Historical Society: Discover the Ridge and Military Monument Rededication Ceremony

Happy May Day. We have no time for dancing around the maypole here! We will be busy with two events this month – Discover the Ridge and our Military Monument Rededication Ceremony.

Discover the Ridge is a fun day with visitors enjoying the museum and bidding on our unique raffle items. WELL…..this year we need to revamp our plan due to the closure of our museum. But we are creative people, so we’re planning to offer a pop-up museum store on the lawn. All your favorite items will be there- medallions, maps, books, etc. You’ll be able to enjoy the newly installed landscaping at the Old Town Hall and admire the Military Monuments that have been reinstalled. We’ll be there from 10:00-4:00.

The Rededication Ceremony on May 28th at 1:00 will honor our veterans and feature the three monuments on the lawn. Everyone is invited and for your comfort we ask that you bring a lawn chair. Each monument honors North Ridgeville citizens who have served our country. The story of the boulder stone is the newest featured blog on our website: northridgevillehistoricalsociety.com. The gray stone honors all branches of the service, and the brown stone is engraved with names of soldiers lost in WWI and WWII. All of the monuments have a special meaning- they represent the honor and appreciation our town has for those who have fought for our freedom. May we always remember…
