Georgia, On My Mind: Keep Lorain County Beautiful Day

Monthly thoughts from Councilwoman at Large Georgia Awig

The third Saturday in May is always “Keep Lorain County Beautiful” Day.  This is a great opportunity to take an active role in improving our city and county.  Residents as well as businesses are encouraged to clean up, fix up, paint and spruce up the places where they work, live, play, dine, and learn.  Some people like to work alone and others like to invite friends to participate with them.  Just remember “many hands make light work”.  You might want to plant flowers, pick up litter, or tackle a small project.  All of this will help keep our community looking beautiful.

We should all take pride in our property and that of others and make sure that we do not litter and that we clean up after ourselves.  It is an effort that we all should do every day.  Hope you like to have beautiful surroundings such like I do. If you have a neighbor who is unable to take care of their property, you might even want to offer assistance.

What will you be doing on May 17th and every other day of the year to keep our city and county looking beautiful?
