Lorain County Clerk of Courts Tom Orlando Hosts Ohio Clerk of Courts Association Dis-trict Meeting

On September 30, Lorain County Clerk of Court Tom Orlando hosted a district meeting for the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association (OCCA) at Martino’s International Café, located at 4415 Liberty Ave. in Vermilion.

During the meeting, an informative presentation was delivered regarding Clerk Orlando’s extensive inmate collection program (ICP), which collaborates with the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections to ensure that dangerous offenders are held accountable. To date, Clerk Orlando and his team have successfully collected nearly $600,000.00, which is allocated to victims of crime, as well as court costs and fines.

The presentation was led by Clerk of Court Tom Orlando alongside Brittany Jones, the finance department manager of the Clerk’s legal division.

Attendees were divided into smaller groups by chief deputy clerk Alisa Lieux to discuss previously submitted inquiries. Orlando, who is currently the chair of the Ohio Clerk of Courts Association District 7, firmly believes that these district meetings serve as an effective platform for exchanging best practices and finding solutions to complex real-world issues that ultimately benefit the community.

The meeting saw participation from county clerk of courts and staff representing Ashland County, Cuyahoga County, Huron County, Lorain County, Richland County, Seneca County, Wayne County and Wyandot County.
