“Sock It To 2020” Sock Drive
This holiday season, students from NRAC 3-8 and RHTA demonstrated #TisforTeamwork by participating in a “Sock It To 2020” sock drive. We collected *exactly* 1500 pairs of socks for men, women, and children!! We will be donating them to local organizations including North Ridgeville Community Care and the Valor Home, to name a couple. A heartfelt thank you to our students and their families who really came through to help us SOCK IT to 2020! These buildings will be holding the 4th annual “Soup’er Bowl” on Thursday, February 6th for North Ridgeville Community Care. Look for more information to be shared from the schools in the upcoming weeks. Cheers to 2021!!
Ranger STONG
As part of our Ranger STRONG program, where S stands for Service, several studios at NRAC 3-8 volunteered to sponsor the Christmas of local children in need through the North Ridgeville Community Care Adopt-A-Child program. Staff and students supported 42 kids ranging in ages from 1-16 years old. The caregiver of each child was given a bag of 7-10 gifts from the child’s wishlist (and a few extras!) as well as wrapping paper and bows. We filled an NRCS maintenance box truck and delivered the gifts the week before Winter Break to be distributed to families. We are continuously overwhelmed by the generosity of our students and their families!
In addition to sponsoring local children in need, a parent with several children in the district reached out to the school with a very specific request: He wanted to brighten the holiday for a local family. Rob Cole, realtor for ReMax, and also a member of the 20/20 group along with Jacki Jakacki, Kelly Schneider, Josh Anton, and Brianna Romero, not only provided holiday cheer for one family, but THREE of them! After obtaining a wishlist for each member of each of the families, he and his office shopped, wrapped and delivered the gifts to their homes. From an article written by Chris Menezes and printed in Cleveland Real Producers, “If there ever were a time people needed to unite and come together in solidarity for the benefit of everyone, it is this year, 2020. Ironically, agents Rob Cole and Jacki Jakacki had that same idea just last year when they brought together agents to create a group of like-minded individuals dedicated to the same collective spirit. “We created the 20/20 Group in 2019 for full-time REALTORS® to come together in the spirit of collaboration and teamwork, to work together and share resources, while retaining our own voices when it comes to listings and sales,” Jacki explains. “We named the team ‘the 20/20 group,’ and the vision was clear: be kind, stay humble, work smart, and do your best. Who would have known that the year 2020 would be so interesting with the world events and global pandemic. ‘Tis life!” What a blessing to be able to make things “Merry and Bright” at the end of such a difficult year. We are grateful to Rob and the 20/20 group for reaching out to us. He is our real life Santa Claus!
NRCS Staff Christmas Parade
Staff members from several buildings of the North Ridgeville City Schools took to the streets on the eve before Winter Break with a mission: Canvas the city with Holiday Joy! With decorated cars, signs, balloons, a Christmas tree, Santa, a reindeer and even the Chick-fil-A Elf Cow, they “paraded” around the city blaring holiday music from the cars and merrily beeping their horns to greet residents. They were met with cheers, smiles and waves from the windows as the residents “sprang from their feet to see what was the matter!” For a few who were lucky enough to be outside to catch the entourage as they drove by, they were greeted with candy cane “peppermint bombs”- because no parade is complete without a candy toss! It has been hard for our staff to feel disconnected from the community and we wanted a way to let our families know that we are thinking of them and wishing them well for the holidays and through the New Year!
Liberty Elementary B Group Donates to Community Care
Students and teachers from the Liberty Elementary B Group raised paper products to donate to North Ridgeville Community Care. The donation effort is part of Ms. Steele’s class project of 10 Days of Kindness. What a great job by our students and staff! #RangerStrong #nrcstogether
