Warmer spring weather is bringing visible progress across North Ridgeville, from infrastructure work to new opportunities for residents to get involved.
Our Public Works crews are now underway with road maintenance, infrastructure improvements, park preparation and grounds upkeep. This work is essential to maintaining safe, reliable and attractive public spaces. As activity increases, please use caution in work zones and allow extra time when traveling through active areas.
Parks and Recreation is also preparing for a busy season, with a full lineup of programs, events and activities for all ages. The Spring-Summer Program guide has been released with registration opening April 6. We encourage you to explore what is offered and plan ahead to participate.
I invite you to join us on April 15 for an inside look at North Ridgeville’s Blueprint. The evening begins with a Community Open House at 5:00 p.m. at the new School Transportation and Maintenance Facility, followed by the State of North Ridgeville Address at 6:30 p.m. at the Academic Center. This event provides an opportunity to hear directly about the progress of your city and your schools and what lies ahead.
As part of America 250-Ohio, April focuses on transportation and the ways Ohio has helped move the world, from canals and railroads to aviation and space exploration. Locally, we will highlight the role North Ridgeville played in that story.
This month, the city will partner with the Historical Society to share social media features on the Greenline Trolley and Shawville Station, part of the Cleveland-to-Toledo railroad line. Built in 1868 at the Center Ridge Road crossing, the station played an important role in regional connectivity. Follow along and visit the display at the North Ridgeville Branch Library to learn more about the history that helped shape our community.
Wishing you a safe and productive start to the spring season.
