North Ridgeville City Schools Names New High School Assistant Principal

The North Ridgeville City School District is pleased to announce the hiring of Benjamin Thomas as the new Assistant Principal at North Ridgeville High School. Thomas brings more than a decade of experience in education, with a strong background in instructional leadership, school culture, student support, and collaborative problem-solving.

Mr. Thomas most recently served as a Life Science teacher at John Marshall School of Information Technology in Cleveland and previously taught at Garrett Morgan School of Leadership and Innovation. Throughout his career, he has taken on numerous leadership roles, including PBIS Team Lead, Project-Based Learning coach, and a Technology Champion. In those positions, he led school culture initiatives, coordinated professional development, managed technology programs, and worked alongside administrators on budgeting, scheduling, and school improvement efforts.

Thomas holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati, a Master’s degree in Secondary Education from the University of Phoenix, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from Miami University.

“I’m incredibly honored to join the North Ridgeville family,” said Thomas. “I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our students, staff, and families while helping grow an environment where every student feels supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed. I’m excited to become a part of a community that values collaboration, growth, and student achievement.”

High School Principal Mrs. Meghan Hignite said Thomas’ experience and leadership style make him an excellent addition to the administrative team.

“Ben brings passion and valuable experience in instructional leadership, student engagement, and school culture, while demonstrating a genuine desire to serve others. His collaborative approach and positive energy will be a tremendous asset to our team and we are excited to welcome him to the Ranger family.”

Mr. Thomas will begin his role as Assistant Principal ahead of the 2026-2027 school year and he looks forward to partnering with students, families, and staff to continue the tradition of excellence at North Ridgeville High School.
