47th Annual North Ridgeville Corn Festival

The 2022 North Ridgeville Corn Fest promises to bring plenty of fun to the community over the weekend of Aug. 12-14.

“We’re excited about presenting the 47th festival this year and we are looking forward to seeing many smiling faces. Plus we are hoping for great weather. Unfortunately we will not have amusement rides due to worker shortage with the amusement company. When the ride company notified us about their worker shortage it was too late to hire another ride company,” said John Butkowski, North Ridgeville Corn Festival Committee President.

A highlight of the festival is the return of the Corn Eating Contest on Saturday after a two year hiatus. See if you can slam more ears of corn that anyone else in your age division!

Opening ceremonies will begin on Friday including the Golden Kernal Award, Kiwanis Club Cutest Dog Contest Winner. The night concludes with high energy country rock music by Adam Calvert and ends with fireworks.

Saturday kicks off with the Corn Festival Car Show at South Central Park. Along with the Corn Eating Contest, Saturday will feature Chris Higbee Band to close the night.

The Grande Parade will take place on Sunday, beginning at the High School, and head down Ranger Way, Center Ridge Road, Root Road, Bainbridge Road and back to the High School. Music provided by DJ Guy will be at the gazebo followed by visiting Queens introductions and Grande Parade trophies.

Tony Schultz will be playing in the beer garden Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.

There will be an Arts Council Craft Show, organized by the Senior Center.

Keith, the Roving Magician/Balloon Man, will be there all three days.

The Lorain County Prosecutor’s office will do children’s fingerprinting on Saturday.

The Fest promises to once again bring a summer highlight to the community.

The Grande Parade is set to start at 1:30 p.m. sharp on Aug. 14 from North Ridgeville High School, 34600 Bainbridge Road.
