NRCS Students Celebrate 100 Days of School

Last week, students at ECLC celebrated 100 days of school with a lot of fun. Great job, Rangers!

Students at Liberty Elementary celebrated being at school for 100 days with activities designed to reinforce math skills (while having fun along the way!) Tomorrow, ECLC gets to join in the fun with their own celebration of reaching the “triple-digit-day-of-school” benchmark!

27 NRHS students won 49 awards in the 2023 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Of these awards: 6 were Gold Keys, 12 were Silver Keys & 30 were Honorable Mentions. Faith Schneider, Junior, is also an American Visions Nominee, one of only 5 nominees in the Lorain County Region. Pictured is Faith’s entry that earned her this nomination. We are so incredibly proud of all our artistic Rangers!

Seventh and Eighth grade students from NRAC and RHTA competed at the Power of the Pen District Tournament on Saturday, January 21 at Columbia Middle School. Power of the Pen is an interscholastic writing competition in which students write in response to three timed writing prompts. With over sixty competitors writing, eighth grade NRAC students, Ailani Mathias and Leah Boutton, placed tenth and eleventh, respectively.

Jake Boynar scored his 1000th point last week. All 3 teams shared in the celebration as the boy’s basketball program swept Valley Forge- 9th/JV/Varsity. Congrats, Jake, on this amazing accomplishment and congrats, Rangers, on the win(s)!

Mrs. Koehler’s 7th Grade Honors ELA had a Victorian Celebration! Transforming into characters from A Christmas Carol, students played games they created to learn about Victorian England etiquette, fashion, current events, and entertainment. They also enjoyed treats and spoke in Victorian slang— it was a real benjo with enthuzimuzzy and nanty narking! (A riotous time with enthusiasm and great fun!)

SAVE THE DATE: March into Kindergarten will occur on February 27. Parents will have the opportunity to learn more as we cover the registration process and the curriculum. We are asking only parents attend this information night presentation. Don’t miss it!
