“Lt. Abt, Ptlm. Larkin, and Ptlm. Chasko received Unit Commendations and Life Saving Awards.

“These awards were given for their heroic response to an incident in December 2022 in which a female repeatedly stabbed her mother and father in an attempt to murder them.

“These North Ridgeville Officers responded immediately, secured the suspect, and administered life-saving aid to both victims. Through their caring professionalism, a violent subject was removed from the streets, and two lives are able to continue.

“Thank you to Lt. Lee and Lt. West for speaking on behalf of the department and an enormous thank you to James, Melanie, and Jessica Deese who spoke as well as presented the Life Saving Awards”.
