Cemetery Spring Cleanup
The North Ridgeville Public Works Department/Grounds Maintenance Division is asking for the community’s assistance in preserving the beauty and dignity of the city-owned cemeteries. As part of the annual spring cleanup, residents are requested to remove plastic and artificial flowers, as well as any weathered winter holiday decorations, by Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
Beginning Thursday, April 2, 2026, city crews will begin clearing any remaining items. Please note that once removal begins, items will not be retrievable.

Community CROSS Walk
The community is invited to meet at the South Central Park gazebo at 12 p.m. on Good Friday, April 3 for this ecumenical event. It will begin with a prayer at the Gazebo and then the group will walk carrying the cross.
EV Charging Stations Now Available
Both the L2 (slower charger) and DCFC (fast charger) EV stations are fully operational and available for public use. They are located by the Bainbridge Road entrance by the Senior Center. Users must download the FLO app. Tesla owners can use the stations with an adapter. Access the FLO network here: www.flo.com/flo-network/.
Community Garden
Preparations are underway for the 2026 season at the North Ridgeville Community Garden. Open to North Ridgeville residents, the garden offers a chance to grow fresh produce, connect with neighbors and give back to the community. Applications and garden guidelines will be available at nridgeville.gov beginning April 20 and will be accepted through May 8. More details will be shared in April as we prepare for planting season.
Fire Hydrant Flushing
Starting each spring, city personnel service fire hydrants throughout the city. Water main flushing is an important preventative maintenance activity that verifies proper operation of the hydrant, evaluates available flow and removes mineral and sediment build up from water mains. It is a requirement of the Ohio EPA to flush one quarter of our hydrants each year for water quality assurances. The Fire Department also pressure tests all hydrants in the city every five years to assess the water pressure and available flow rate for firefighting purposes.
Hydrant flushing and pressure testing will not interrupt your water service. However, it is common to see a drop in water pressure while crews are working in your area. Water can become discolored after hydrant flushing. Here are some helpful hints:
- The water is safe to drink.
- Run your COLD water tap for a few minutes until it is clear.
- Avoid washing clothes until water is clear.
- If laundry becomes stained, do not put it in the dryer. Contact Michelle Smith in the Fire Department at (440) 490-2040 to obtain a rust remover pack at no cost.
