This past Sunday, Feb. 2, the North Ridgeville Police Association & North Ridgeville Firefighters IAFF Local 2129 held a joint banquet to recognize individuals for accomplishments throughout 2024. During the ceremony, members of NRPD and NRFD received commendations for exceptional work during the previous year.
The NR Police Association presented several peer-voted recognitions. Based on criteria provided by their awards committee, the following very deserving individuals were selected by their coworkers: Rookie of the Year: Ptlm. Rudy Ackerman; FTO (Field Training Officer) of the Year: Ptlm. Brad Parker; Community Policing Award: Ptlm. Clint Chasko; Humane Officer of the Year: Ptlm. John Metzo; Dispatcher of the Year: Disp. Molly Becker; Patrol Officer of the Year: Ptlm. Omar Vazquez; Detective of the Year: Det. Aaron Neff; Supervisor of the Year: Lt. Anthony Lee
Firefighters/Paramedics recognized at the annual banquet: Life Saver Award (For courageous and quick thinking that saved a life. Your bravery in a moment of crisis was an inspiration to all and has earned you the deepest gratitude and respect of the community): Lt. Dean Souris, FF Gary Chase, FF Kevin Pocos, Lt. Chris Federan, FF Kerri Tolvay, FF Richard Kenney, Lt. Justin Silvi, FF Brad Buescher. Stork Award (This commendation is awarded as a result of successful assistance to a mother in the natural delivery of a newborn in the pre-hospital setting): FF Ben Roberts, FF Brian Logan, FF Bill Foster, Lt. Chad Warner. Length of Service Awards: Capt. Barry Cook – 20 years; FF Mike Williams (ret) – 35 years, FF Mark Cominsky – 25 years; FF Brian Logan – 5 years, FF Ben Roberts – 5 years, FF Grant Gradisek – 5 years, FF Kevin Pocos – 25 years and FF Jason Chrosniak – 10 years.
