At their February 17 meeting, Council passed legislation authorizing the mayor to advertise for bids and enter into contract for the Lorain Road at Lear Nagle Road Pedestrian Improvements Project. Construction is expected to begin as soon as possible following contract award, weather permitting.
The proposed improvements are targeted, near-term safety measures focused specifically on pedestrian crossings. The project includes enhanced crosswalk treatments, ped signals, signage and other features designed to improve driver awareness, pedestrian visibility and overall safety for all users of the intersection. These improvements align with current roadway safety standards and represent an immediate, implementable response to existing conditions at this location.
