North Ridgeville High School is proud to announce that senior Abigale “Gale” Nelson has been named a National Honor Society (NHS) Semifinalist and awarded a $3,200 scholarship in recognition of her outstanding dedication to service, leadership, and character. This is a second recognition for Gale as she also won the Governor’s Merit Scholarship earlier this year.
Gale’s achievements reflect a deep commitment to both the arts and her school community. A passionate musician, she serves as a section leader in both A Cappella and Travel Choirs, performs with Spectrum of Sound, and plays the cello in the North Ridgeville High School Orchestra. Her musical excellence has earned her multiple superior ratings at the OMEA Solo and Ensemble Contests.
Beyond music, Gale is actively involved in theater, participates in the BW Conservatory Summer Institute, and is a proud member of the National Honor Society. She also contributes her leadership and service through Drama Club, Student Council, and as a counselor at her church, demonstrating her commitment to mentoring and supporting others.
“Gale truly represents the very best of North Ridgeville High School,” said Mrs. Meghan Hignite, Principal of North Ridgeville High School. “Her passion for music, her leadership among her peers, and her dedication to serving others make her incredibly deserving of this honor. We are so proud of her accomplishments and excited to see the positive impact she will continue to make.”
Gale plans to attend Bowling Green State University where she will major in Music Education with a choral emphasis and a secondary instrument of cello. Her dream is to become a choir director, inspiring students to discover and develop their own love of music.
North Ridgeville High School congratulates Gale Nelson on this well-earned recognition and wishes her continued success in her future academic and musical pursuits.
