North Ridgeville Parks and Recreation manages more than 113 acres of parkland and offers a wide range of programs and events for residents of all ages. The city’s 2013 Parks and Recreation Master Plan guided significant growth in facilities and programming over the past decade. The city is now updating that plan to build on this foundation while addressing current needs and future challenges.
The Master Plan will:
- Establish a clear vision for the future of parks and recreation services and align facilities, programs and operations with community needs and fiscal realities
- Identify service gaps and opportunities, with an emphasis on accessibility and overall community benefit
- Prioritize investments in a practical, phased manner
- Incorporate meaningful public and stakeholder input
- Provide realistic implementation strategies tied to available resources
Following a competitive selection process, McKenna was chosen to lead the Parks and Recreation Master Plan update. Authorization of the contract is moving through Council.
Once approved, work on the plan will begin, including development of a project timeline and opportunities for public input. Updates will be shared as the plan progresses.
